  • Workshop for Ajara Museum Managers

    ICOM National Committee in Georgia together with Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara has developed the project - workshop for Ajara museum managers "Developing Museums". Workshop was lead by Inga Karaia (Advisor to the Minister of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia; ICOM Georgia, chair), Mariam Burchuladze (Head of museum division at Ministry of Culture and Monuments Protection of Georgia) and Christian Waltl (Director of Kulturagenda - Institute for museums, cultural enterprises and audiences (Austria). 23 managers from different museums of Ajara and several students from Batumi Art Institute were participated at the workshop. They gained rich experience and information concerning to the following themes: Essentials of forward planning, mission statement, organizational development, financial management, audience development. After the workshop the results will contribute to improve development plan of the museums and to make it for a minimum of 3 years approved by Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports of Ajara.
