    Museum collection description: The Museum houses the best-known samples of Georgian artwork. The permanent exhibitions displays artworks from medieval times up to twentieth century, there are also some collections of pre-Christian times. The Museum is distinguished for its Georgian goldsmith pieces dated back to the VIII-XIX Centuries. Also unique are the exhibits of cut-enamel, jewelry and art textiles from VIII-XV cc. The funds of Georgian art are kept samples of medieval architecture fragments, wall painting, mosaic, sculpture, icons, woodcuts. The museum stores the works of famous Georgian artists Niko Pirosmanishvili (146 items), Gigo Gabashvili, Iakob Nikoladze, Lado Gudiashvili, Elene Akvlediani, David Kakabadze and others. The museum also hosts collections of XVIII-XIX c.c. Russian, Western Europe and Oriental (parently Persian) artworks.

    Ticket price: Adult -3 GEL, Students - 1.5 GEL, Schoolchildren (max. 15 people) 0.5 GEL, Guided Tour Fee 10 GEL
    Free of charge: Children under 6 years of age and homeless children. Groups: Employees of Georgian and Foreign Museums, ICOM members (with valid identification), First and second category disabled persons (with valid identification), specialists and students connected to museum (with valid identification).

    Exhibitions: Periodical exhibition of different collections in Georgia and in foreign countries museums.
